About the Role
The Delivery Lead - Dunedin Hospital Build operates at the delivery level, responsible for overseeing the execution of projects that support Health New Zealand's operational priorities. This role collaborates closely with local project and programme teams, Programme Managers, Delivery Managers, and other Delivery Leads to form, lead, and manage delivery teams. Working alongside key internal and external stakeholders, the Delivery Lead ensures the effective design, planning, and implementation of technology projects. Responsible for guiding delivery teams, this role ensures that technology solutions are delivered on time, meet business requirements, and support a complex technology environment serving multiple users and critical applications nationwide. The Delivery Lead is also accountable for maintaining delivery excellence and ensuring alignment with strategic organisational goals.
About the Team/Service/ Location
The Delivery Lead sits within the Digital Delivery function, attached to the Digital Facilities Delivery Group, and also part of the wider Digital Services Group at Health New Zealand. Reporting to senior delivery leadership, this role is part of a national team focused on the successful execution of technology projects that align with Health NZ's operational priorities and the Digital Facilities Framework. The team collaborates closely with Programme Managers, Delivery Managers, local project teams, and key stakeholders to ensure seamless delivery across complex digital environments. Committed to maintaining delivery excellence and strategic alignment, the team plays a vital role in supporting the ongoing digital transformation and operational effectiveness across Health New Zealand's technology landscape.
About you
You are an experienced delivery professional with a strong background in leading and managing technology projects within complex environments. You bring a pragmatic, results-focused approach and excellent leadership skills, enabling you to guide teams to deliver projects on time, within scope, and aligned with business needs. Comfortable working collaboratively with diverse stakeholders, you are adept at managing competing priorities and driving continuous improvement to achieve high-quality outcomes.
You will also have the following skills and experience to support your success in the role:
- Over 10 years' experience in technology delivery, including 5+ years managing projects or programs in complex IT environments.
- Strong knowledge of project and delivery methodologies such as Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid.
- Proven experience leading diverse, geographically dispersed teams.
- Skilled in stakeholder management and communication at all levels, including executive engagement.
