Community Support Worker Team Lead

Arataki Ministries provide community mental health services in the Whangarei and Kaipara areas. We are searching for a Community Support Worker Team Lead based in our Whangarei team. As Team Leader, you will provide day-to-day guidance, mentoring, and operational oversight to our CSW team, ensuring our services are delivered with integrity, cultural responsiveness, and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:


• Lead and support a team of Community Support Workers to deliver high-quality, person-centred care.

• Coordinate team schedules, supervision and performance development.

• Foster a positive team culture grounded in collaboration, respect and accountability.

• Ensures services align with Arataki Ministries Values (Manaakitanga, Aroha, Whanaungatanga, Kotahitanga & Mana), policies and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

• Encourages and supports families/whānau to participate in the recovery of clients.

• Focus on service users' strengths to support their recovery.

• Coordinates and ensures all processes, documentation and wellness plans are accurate, comprehensive and current for each client.

• Works effectively with the wider community and challenges stigma and discrimination.

• Maintains personal and professional development.

Skills & Experience:

• Strong communication and relationship building skills.

• Demonstrated experience in Community Support or Social Services.

• Commitment to cultural competency.

• Proven leadership or mentoring experience (formal or informal).

• Ability to work collaboratively and manage competing priorities.

• Relevant qualification in Mental Health, Social Work or Community Services (preferred but not essential).
