The opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Business Analyst to play a key role in the successful delivery of our new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system at Western Bay of Plenty District Council.
This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a transformative programme that will modernise how we work, streamline processes, and improve the way we deliver services to our communities.
As the Business Analyst, you'll work closely with project leaders, system vendors, and business stakeholders to:
- Analyse current processes and identify areas for improvement.
- Gather and translate business requirements into clear technical and functional specifications.
- Support the design, configuration, and testing of the ERP solution.
- Facilitate workshops and user sessions to ensure alignment and understanding across teams.
- Contribute to training, change readiness, and system adoption activities.
You'll connect business needs with technical delivery, ensuring the new system meets requirements and delivers meaningful value to end users.
This role will suit someone who enjoys problem-solving, can think strategically, and takes pride in helping teams adapt and thrive in a digital transformation environment.
To set you up for success, you'll have
- Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in a large or complex environment.
- Proven experience working on ERP or major system implementation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to translate business needs into clear, actionable system requirements.
- Confidence working across teams and managing competing priorities.
- Ability to work independently and adapt in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Ideally, experience in the public sector or local government setting.
- Live locally (preferred).
