We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Strawberry Grower / Agronomist to join our client's team. This is a relocation opportunity (for candidates based outside New Zealand and willing to relocate to pursue their career in berries farming in a vibrant community). Key Responsibilities: • Crop Management: Oversee all aspects of strawberry production, from planting and irrigation to nutrition, pest/disease control, and harvesting strategies. • Sustainability: Apply and enhance environmentally responsible cultivation techniques, including IPM (integrated pest management), soil health practices, and water conservation. • Yield Optimization: Monitor plant health and production data to adjust strategies for quality and yield improvements. • Compliance: Ensure farming operations meet NZGAP standards and internal quality protocols, maintaining documentation for traceability and audits. • Team Supervision: Lead and train seasonal field staff to ensure productivity, safety, and a positive workplace culture. • Cross -Department Coordination: Collaborate with post -harvest and logistics teams to align production timelines with market and operational needs. RequirementsEducation: Degree in Agronomy, Horticulture, or related field preferred. Experience: At least 5 years of hands -on experience in berry or strawberry production, preferably in a commercial environment.Technical Skills: Competent in crop data tracking, modern irrigation systems, pest/disease monitoring tools, and basic farm software.Adaptability: Willingness and ability to relocate internationally; experience working in diverse cultural or agricultural settings is an advantage.Leadership: Strong communication and team management capabilities.Physically Fit: Able to perform physical tasks in various outdoor conditions throughout the growing season.
