The Ngā Raumanako and Suzanne Spencer Memorial Māori Scholarships
Supported by Chartered Accountants ANZ and Ngā Kaitatau Māori o Aotearoa
**Purpose**
The Ngā Raumanako Māori Scholarship and Suzanne Spencer Memorial Māori Scholarship are offered to Māori tauira studying towards a qualification in accounting, who are in their second or subsequent year of study. The scholarships will provide a level of financial support to help support our tauira on their education journey and to develop their skills in accounting and encourage others to undertake accounting as a profession.
Recipients of both scholarships must have values that clearly align to the values of both NKMoA and CA ANZ and include a statement to this effect.

**Ngā Raumanako Māori Scholarship**
**Selection Criteria**
The Ngā Raumanako Māori Scholarship is for Māori tauira who have a passion for accounting. The recipient will need to clearly articulate how this scholarship will help them to achieve their aspirations in the accounting field and how these can contribute to the economic and financial well-being of Māori.
**Value**
The successful recipient of the Ngā Raumanako Māori Scholarship will receive $5,000 ($2,500 p.a. over 2 years) and may also have the opportunity to gain an internship* with one of the Ngā Kaitatau Māori o Aotearoa network partners.
**Suzanne Spencer Memorial Māori Scholarship**
Suzanne Spencer, a wāhine Māori, is well known for being the first deputy chair of NKMoA and a visionary Māori chartered Accountants who worked with Dunedin firm Polson Higgs.
**Selection Criteria**
This scholarship is specifically for Māori who have a clear focus on achievement not just for themselves, but for their whānau and the community. The recipient will need to demonstrate how they have contributed to their community and how they, as a proud toa can contribute to the holistic wellbeing of Māori through strong leadership and visionary thinking.
**Value**
The successful recipient of the Suzanne Spencer Memorial Māori Scholarship will receive $6,000 ($3,000 p.a. over 2 years). They will also be provided with the opportunity to have a mentor from the NKMoA network to assist them with their career aspirations.
