**About the role | Ko te mahi nei**

Our Legal Services team is proud to play a pivotal role in working to make Ōtautahi Christchurch a vibrant, prosperous, and sustainable city. We need a senior lawyer who is a driven, energetic, and practical legal professional.

You will engage and build relationships with internal client groups to provide advice and support in the general area of Planning (RMA) including all court, tribunal, and mediation matters. If you have experience in regulatory litigation and civil matters that would be an added bonus but is not essential.

**About you | Ko Koe Tēnei**

You will have the ability to deliver technically robust legal advice and deploy great stakeholder legal skills. In addition, you will be an excellent advocate with the case management skills to conduct cases in-house from start to finish and where appropriate, manage external legal providers.

This is a rare opportunity to be part of a busy in-house legal team and at the same time, make a difference to the community. This is a new role that you will be able to shape and profile yourself within the organisation.
