**About Shama Ethnic Women’s Trust**:
Shama Ethnic Women’s Trust (commonly known as Shama) is a charitable trust formed in 2002 after the identification of a gap in available services for ethnic women and children that are run by ethnic women. Shama aims to support the development of a truly multicultural New Zealand where all women from ethnic* minorities would be fully integrated into New Zealand society, to live lives of dignity, free from fear of violence and discrimination, and to be recognised as valuable contributors to their local communities.

**Responsibilities**:
**Qualifications and Skills**:

- Qualifications in social work or similar field are an advantage
- Understanding of the experience of ethnic people from a range of backgrounds living in

New Zealand.
- Understanding of family or sexual violence prevention work
- Strong planning, coordination, or community development experience
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
- The ability to speak 1 or 2 ethnic languages will be an advantage
