**Tēnei tūranga - About the Role**:
As the Director of Partnerships & Engagement you will be a strategic thinker with a proven track record of building and maintaining strong relationships with iwi and hapū. You will be responsible for cooperating across MBIE, as well as developing and implementing strategies to engage with external stakeholders.
**Reporting to the Head of Property your key duties include**:
- Committed to connect and maintain strong partnerships across MBIE.
- Building strategies to engage and collaborate with iwi and hapū.
- Support the broader overarching strategies of MBIE Property in relation to partnering with Māori and cultural engagement.
- Understanding the primary drivers, commitments, and opportunities facing business groups.
- Identifying and championing solutions that serve both the customers and MBIE.
Ngā pukenga me ngā wheako e hiahiatia ana - Skills and Experience Required
- Minimum 10 years of experience in relationship management or engagement leadership roles within the government sector.
- Proven experience and the ability to connect with iwi and hapū (including appropriate understanding of tikanga me te reo Māori).
- Demonstrated ability to deal with complex and emerging issues that contain a high level of ambiguity.
- Demonstrated understanding of current Government policy and community views on Te Tiriti.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and contacts to define business strategies and requirements.
- Experience and confidence in handling complex property issues.
- Effective communication skills, including strong report writing ability as well as familiarity with marketing and communication strategies.
