The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) provides national leadership to New Zealand's distributed emergency management system. Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role
In this role you will be leading a team responsible for managing the development and delivery of exercises for the Emergency Management system including the National Exercise Programme, CDEM and NEMA.
As part of working within NEMA, there may be a requirement to respond to emergency activations in the event of a national emergency response. This may involve responding to events outside of normal working hours if an emergency response of national significance occurs.

- People focused with strong leadership skills
- Demonstrated experience in: exercise design, planning, writing and implementation; briefing and debriefing; acquiring resources; and bringing complex tasks effectively together
- Experience in emergency coordination centres, including a good understanding of CIMS
- Proven relationship management skills with strong communication and influencing abilities
- Excellent writing and presentation skills
- A relevant tertiary qualification or an equivalent body of knowledge and experience in Emergency Management
- A champion for delivering outcomes and achieving continuous improvement

The salary band for this position is $133,966 to $157,608 including Kiwisaver employer contributions.
