**About New Zealand Blood Service**

Every year, tens of thousands of generous people donate their time, blood and plasma to us for free. In addition to our vein to vein service in transfusion New Zealand Blood and Organ Service (NZBS) also provides national services in organ transplantation, cellular therapies and tissue banking. We exist to ensure the efficient delivery of safe blood and tissue products on a time critical basis throughout New Zealand and through the generosity of our donors, we are able to help save lives.

Our shared values are at the heart of our organisation's culture and guide our behaviour each and every day. These values inspire, motivate us and drive us to provide the very best service to the New Zealand public.

Watch this video to see what our people say about the NZBS values they admire the most.

**How you will make impact**
***
Less than 4% of New Zealanders are currently donating and you will play a key role in the retention of existing blood donors and the recruitment of new donors, aimed at growing our donor database. This ensures that we can sustain a continuous blood supply and service to New Zealander's.

This role would benefit from a background in networking, promotional work, or customer relationship development, and experience presenting to a range of audiences. As a Donor Relations Coordinator your demonstrated experience in customer relations, sales and promotional work will be a significant asset. Whether it is coordinating our Team Red groups, developing new business, promoting mobile collects or special events, no two days are the same.

You may be required to be able to travel throughout the region and will have a 'can-do' attitude with the flexibility to take on tasks as part of a dynamic and multi-functional team.

**This role specifically is focused on working with Team Reds, our Group Donation Program. You will be, in the main, working with corporate organisations, helping build opportunities for new Donors while maintaining and growing our existing groups; the majority of which consists of businesses.**

To help us grow our donor database, you must be able to promote the benefits of donating whole blood and plasma. You will work with people from all walks of life. And, you will interact with people both one-on-one and in group settings.

You will also need to bring a positive, 'can-do' attitude with the flexibility to handle a variety of tasks. No two days are the same. Being part of a small team we will expect you to:

- Coordinate our corporate groups and run special events
- Cooperatively work with others to network with Business Leaders/Senior Managers
- Promote the importance of blood and plasma donations to companies and community groups
- Attend our mobile blood drives to recruit new plasma donors.
- Support Donors to donate regularly.

**About you**

As our new blood, you will have:
Great communication skills and be able to influence a wide range of people and be at ease building productive new relationships internally and externally. By bringing a positive and optimistic mind-set to work you will be comfortable with the pressure to meet and exceed performance targets.

**What we offer**
- Opportunities for skills development in a motivated and collaborative team
- The job security that comes with a growing organisation within an essential service organisation
- Engagement in the development of strategies and tactics tailored to a region or territory, in order to recruit and retain blood donors
- A role where you will have a sense of pride knowing that what you do contributes to positive outcomes

If you think you have what it takes, we would like to hear from you
