The Senior Portfolio Controls Advisor provides specialist support across a regional portfolio of work, by working alongside an expert project team. This role plays a critical part in making sure up to date best practice and high-quality reporting are applied across all activities of the programme and project lifecycle.
Working in partnership with Principal Advisors you will pro-actively drive and implement improvements and provide key essential skills within the team to support the Transport Services group to deliver. The role will collaborate with the regional leadership team to assist in the provision of visibility across the forward work programme, resource planning, and information to support the group and Waka Kotahi to manage credible, informed, and qualified professional external relationships.

**To be successful in this role you will be able to demonstrate**:

- A Bachelor's degree in business, commerce, engineering or equivalent
- Evidence of advanced expertise working in a PMO, or project delivery environment of comparable size and complexity.
- Proficiency and a dedicated focus on project controls - cost management, risk management, reporting and scheduling.
- The ability to build and maintain sound and productive relationships with multiple stakeholder groups.
- Experience in using relevant systems in a PMO environment ideally with PlanView, SAP, TIO or relevant financial experience.
- Successful identification and management of risks and trends which has ensured these were managed before they materialised

In addition, you will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of Te Tiriti o Waitangi (the Treaty of Waitangi) as it applies in the public sector.
