**Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi | About the Role**
We are seeking an experienced individual in the Electrical Trades industry to join our teaching team as an academic staff member. You will be supporting ākonga [learners] in the following short course programmes:
- Electrical Service Appliance Qualification (EAS)
- Electrical Services Technicians (EST)
- Electrical Registration Training programmes, Regulations, Practical and Theory
- Electrical Workers Registration Board (EWRB) Electrical Competency Refresher
- Safe Working Practices safety training
The courses operate as block courses throughout the day, and evening as scheduled.
This is an **hourly paid role** and pays $50 - $70 per hour dependent on skills and experience.
The Academic Staff Member - Professional Programmes Electrical Tutor is based in our Rotokauri Campus, reporting to the Professional Programmes Team Manager.
**He kōrero mōu| About you**
**To be successful in this role you will have**:
- A relevant trade qualification at Level 4 or higher as an Electrician
- Registered electrician with a current practicing licence the NZ Electrical Workers Registration Board
- A minimum of 5 years practical industry experience post NZ full Electrical Registration
- A commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment, ensuring all students are supported in their educational journey.
- Excellent presentation and communication skills
- Passion and energy for teaching and training others
- Be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident or hold a current NZ work permit
**Preferred**:
- Unit standard 4098 and the NZ certificate in Adult Tertiary Teaching Practice (or be willing to complete these courses)
