Senior Consents Officer

**Mō te tūranga | About the role**
As a Senior Consents Officer you will be required to:
- Provide information and expert advice to internal and external stakeholders
- Prepare and present evidence at consent hearings and contribute to Environment Court processes including mediation and caucusing
- Review work from peers, mentor junior staff and take the lead on team projects
- Contribute to policy development and strategic direction
- Build positive relationships with applicants, resource users, community groups & iwi.

We are seeking a Senior Consents Officer who is focused, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. You will:
- Be a leader in resource management, with full proficiency in processing resource consents and familiarity with regional and national planning documents
- Have a strong customer focus and proven ability to achieve practical timely outcomes
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Have proven success at building strong positive relationships and resolving issues
- Work well in a team and enjoy sharing your knowledge to mentor and train junior staff
- Be willing to step up and support the Team Leader with projects and leadership
**Mō ngā pūkenga | Qualifications and experience**
- Tertiary qualification in science, resource management, planning or related field
- At least 10 years’ experience in resource management
