x2 roles available. As a Senior Environmental Planner, you will be required to:
- Project manage or prepare complex and potentially contentious resource consent applications.
- Provide information and expert advice to internal and external stakeholders.
- Occasionally prepare and present evidence at consent hearings and contribute to Environment Court processes including mediation and caucusing.
- Review work from peers, mentor staff and take the lead on team projects.
- Contribute to policy development and strategic direction.
- Build positive relationships throughout the Council, resource users, community groups and Iwi.
Mō te tangata | About you
- Focused, enthusiastic and knowledgeable.
- The two wider roles will each have a major focus on Consents processes and the other policy, submissions and interests of the Integrated Catchment Management directorate of the Council.
- Be a leader in resource management, with full proficiency in preparing resource consent applications and familiarity with regional and national planning documents.
- Have a strong customer focus and proven ability to achieve practical timely outcomes.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Have proven success at building strong positive relationships and resolving issues.
- Work well in a team and enjoy sharing your knowledge to mentor and train staff.
- Be willing to step up and support the Team Leader with projects and leadership.
Mō ngā pūkenga | Qualifications and experience
- Tertiary qualification in science, resource management, planning or related field.
- Minimum 5 years' experience in resource management.
