Based at Te Toka Tumai Auckland Hospital | Greenlane Clinical Centre Cardiology Outpatient Clinics
Understands and supports the pursuit of Māori health gain as well as achieving equitable health outcomes for Māori through the expression of hauora Māori models of care and Mātauranga Māori
Post graduate qualifications preferable
A minimum of 3 years cardiovascular nursing experience preferred with demonstrated leadership
Have NZ Nursing registration with a current Annual Practicing Certificate
This role has reporting lines to both the Māori Health Lead and Nurse Unit Manager cardiology

Our Cardiovascular Directorate provides high quality care to tāngata māuiui |patients across New Zealand. The team is made up of clinical experts who are dedicated and focused on providing quality health outcomes for the tāngata māuiui |patients that come into their care. The reputation of the service is based on the excellent care provided by our teams including provision of Heart failure, cardiac rehabilitation and exercise programmes.
The Cardiology Department leads Aotearoa New Zealand in providing specialised nursing care based on clinical skill, research, education and innovation. Our commitment is to the highest levels of clinical quality, providing the best standards of personalised care possible to our tāngata māuiui. The Service is looking for a Māori Nurse with experience in working with large teams in a busy and complex environment.

As a Heart Function Māori Health Nurse Specialist you will be able to demonstrate expert knowledge in Tikanga Māori, advanced clinical skills, and be an excellent communicator and team member. You will be accountable for care delivery and coordination for cardiovascular tāngata māuiui with heart failure and will work in collaboration with other Nurse Specialists and multidisciplinary team members across the continuum of care. You will be on a Nurse Specialist pathway, with interest in becoming a Nurse Prescriber. Key to your success will be alignment with our values here at Te Toka Tumai and have a good understanding of our Directorate’s commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations.
