**About the opportunity**:
Our client is broadening their scope of supply and to deliver full turnkey pipework solutions. They specialise in process pipework for food, beverage and pharmaceutical industries, which also includes steam pipe work. They have a genuine ideology of good work culture, communication and understanding.

They are now looking for a Design Draughtsman/Engineer to join their Onehunga team

**Responsibilities will include**:

- Meeting with the Client to determine the design requirements and quote project and maintaining the relationships
- Conducting site surveys and research to determine pipeline specifications and placement as well as pump sizes
- Preparing and presenting technical materials such as cost estimates and project time frame, pipeline layouts, and flow simulations
- Create detailed drawings of storage tanks and pipework for production

Work along with the team to develop the processes for production
- Evaluate production costs and proactively tracking the costs to ensure the project is within the budget
- Project management from initial enquiry through to delivery of the product
- Overseeing the construction and installation process of pipline infrastructure and systems
- Identify product improvements or new products by remaining current on industry trends, market activities, and competitors.
- Identify opportunities for cost/efficiency reductions
- Prepares reports by collecting, analysing, and summarizing information.
- Maintain quality services by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
- Performing quality control assessments and ensuring that the pipelines comply with all technical and safety regulations
- Performing maintenance, repairs, and upgrades to pipelines as needed

**This role will suit someone with all or some following background/experience/qualities**:

- A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Advance Trade Cert or equivalent
- At least 5 years of experience in a similar role
- Knowledge in steam pipe design and other piping systems.
- Be able to read drawings and proficient in mechanical design software such as AutoCAD, Inventor or solid works.
- Have understanding of Piping codes of NZ
- Experience in platform, stair, and general fabrication design
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office
