This person will be operating in the Business Area TOMRA Fresh within TOMRA Food.

**About the role**:
We're looking for an enthusiastic engineering superstar to join our Auckland based team. We develop products, create technology, and integrate systems for the fresh produce industry. As a global leader that develops the most advanced grading technology, our innovation led, and customer focused team is driven by helping customers and solving their real-world needs.

Our brand-new Field Research Centre allows for newly designed equipment to be developed, tested, and validated in conjunction with field trials. Thus, resulting in the opportunity for commissioning at both local and global customer sites.

This role will see you mechanically designing and developing world leading multi-disciplinary products for TOMRA Fresh sorting machines. This includes:

- Deriving design requirements through identifying and communicating with all project stakeholders
- Producing complex detailed designs and specifications to meet the requirements
- Building prototypes in a cost effective and product derisking manner
- Refining the design of existing products for performance, manufacturing, and cost effectiveness
- Occasional site visits domestically and internationally to support and validate both new and existing products

**Qualifications**:
**About you**
You're the kind of person who is who are after practical hands-on experience, not just an office-based role. You will also have:

- A tertiary degree in mechanical engineering, or similar
- An understanding of CAD software (preferably SolidWorks)
- A willingness to learn and be part of a tight-knit team
- The ability to travel domestically and internationally where necessary
