**Te āheinga | The opportunity**
At Whakaata Māori, we embrace our role as a waka, driven by our passion to preserve and promote Māori stories, language, and culture. This role is your chance to be at the heart of our vibrant team, where you’ll embody the manaakitanga and tikanga of our organization. You’ll be the go-to person for meet and greet, customer service, and a variety of support and administrative tasks. Every day will bring new challenges and opportunities. Your previous experience will be invaluable to navigate and make your mark on the role, to prioritise and think on your feet supporting te Tari Kaihautū and Te Ranga Kaiurungi.
**He kōrero mō te tūranga | About the role**
You will:
- Be the welcoming face and voice of Whakaata Māori
- Ensure manuhiri are looked after when they engage with Whakaata Māori
- Coordinate travel, events, merchandise and office supplies with efficiency and ensuring everything runs smoothly.
- Manage parking, customer/external enquiries, visitor records, and meeting room bookings with precision.
- Carry out ad hoc administration tasks as needed
- Perform financial reconciliations and stakeholder engagement with confidence.
- Lead continuous improvements in administration processes, making a real impact.
**He kōrero mōu ake | About you**
- Basic proficiency in Te Reo Māori and knowledge of tikanga Māori required. High proficiency in Te Reo Māori and knowledge of tikanga Māori preferred.
- Empathetic, proactive, and open to working in a multicultural environment.
- Well-presented, friendly, and helpful.
- An experienced receptionist/office administrator confident in all aspects of office and business administration.
- A compassionate and non-judgmental attitude.
- Superb communication, planning, and organisational skills.
- Ability to pick up new tasks quickly and show initiative.
