About the role
A values-driven organisation is seeking a Workplace Relations Business Partner to join its high-performing in-house HR and Legal function. This is more than just a legal role — it's an opportunity to help shape culture, champion fairness, and support leaders across a dynamic and evolving organisation.
You'll be part of a close-knit team of experienced employment lawyers, providing expert guidance on a wide range of Employment and Industrial Relations matters — from enterprise bargaining and dispute resolution to change management and investigations.
In this permanent, full-time position (with flexibility to WFH 1 day per week), you'll have the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to both strategic projects and day-to-day workplace relations issues — all while helping leaders live the organisation's values in every decision they make.
What we're looking for
- A lawyer with 3–6 years' post-admission experience in Employment Law or ER/IR, with a current New Zealand (or Australian) legal practising certificate, or eligibility to hold one
- Strong technical knowledge of employment and industrial relations legislation, and proven experience working with Unions and within collective agreements.
- Experience advising on investigations, disputes, performance management and change processes
- A pragmatic, solutions-focused mindset that balances legal risk with commercial outcomes
- Proven ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including HR and senior leaders
- Experience mentoring or upskilling leaders on ER/IR matters
- Confidence managing sensitive situations with discretion, calm, and professionalism
About the business
This iconic New Zealand organisation is a globally recognised innovator in the healthcare technology sector. With operations in over 120 countries and a workforce driven by care and excellence, the business places a strong emphasis on employee wellbeing, high-performance culture, and long-term impact.
