**Are you a social media specialist with spark and an interest in science?**

At Earth Sciences NZ, we explore everything from tectonic shifts to climate change, ocean depths to energy security. Now, we're looking for someone who can bring those stories to life online - with a voice that's playful, 'punny' and peer-reviewed.
You'll be the voice of Earth Sciences NZ across social media, translating world-class science into content that connects with curious minds. From posting about Antarctic ice cores to AI-powered freshwater monitoring, your job is to turn serious science into scroll-stopping content that's credible and completely engaging.
If you thrive on crafting smart, scientifically accurate content, with occasional well-timed fun, this role will be a perfect fit. You'll spot trending formats and adapt them in ways that still respect the science, all while collaborating with our scientists and communications team to develop content that informs and inspires.

**What you'll bring**
- Experience creating engaging content for social media - especially for science, public-good, or research-focused organisations.
- A knack for writing: catchy hooks, clever captions, and content that makes people want to know more.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to getting the science right.
- Use of data and insights to help refine content strategy and grow our audiences.
- Familiarity with design tools such as Adobe Creative Suite.
