**Āu Mahi | What You Will Do**
As a Lecturer / Senior Lecturer in Applied Data Science, you will contribute to teaching and industry-connected scholarship within the School of Mathematics and Statistics. You will deliver high-quality courses that prepare students for real-world data-driven careers and foster collaborations with industry, government, and community partners. This role is ideal for someone passionate about bridging academic excellence with practical, data-informed innovation.

**Mōu | Who You Are**
You combine your expertise in Data Science with a commitment to teaching, industry engagement, and collegial leadership. You will have:

- A PhD in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience in applied and industry-relevant data science, including collaboration with external partners.
- Expertise in data science tools and programming languages (e.g., Python, R, SQL, or equivalent).
- Strong quantitative and analytical skills with an ability to translate data insights into practical solutions.
- Experience in leading teams (expected at Senior Lecturer level).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a commitment to inclusive and collaborative practice.
- Champion equity, diversity, and inclusion, and actively support the University's commitment to Aotearoa New Zealand's bicultural heritage and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.

This role sits within the Academic Staff, Associated Staff and Support Staff Collective Agreement and the following salary scale applies: Lecturer $94,181 - $113,616; Senior Lecturer $119,586 - $149,806.
