Plant & Food Research plays a critical role in supporting Aotearoa New Zealand's horticulture and seafood sectors, and helping to unlock the significant economic, environmental, social and cultural benefits they generate. We are looking for a business management leader who will bring their customer management and business development expertise, to grow our customer relationships to achieve revenue objectives. **What you will be doing | Ngā whāinga matua**

You will be leading and developing a team of highly capable, passionate market team leads and business managers who have established relationships with our customers, and close partnerships with our science teams. We need you to:

- Take overall leadership of all revenue and business management projects, proposals and priorities
- Coach and develop resilient Business Managers who understand our strategy and have an in-depth knowledge of designated customers' needs and requirements
- Provide business insights through analytics and reporting to ensure robust decisions are made in relation to customer development, revenue planning and revenue growth priorities
- Ensure the wider Business Management team are empowered and motivated to achieve their KPI's by driving a positive, high-performance culture.

To be successful in this role, the minimum qualifications required are:

- A degree qualification in business, international business, or other relevant discipline or equivalent capability from a combination of relevant qualifications and experience
- At least five years' experience in a senior leadership role with responsibilities that include leading, coaching and developing a Business Management, account management or sales team
- In-depth knowledge of scientific research and innovation processes
- High-level leadership and interpersonal skills required for the development of sound customer relationships and successful contract negotiation
