We have a Permanent opportunity that has become available to join a talented, highly motivated and engaged team as a** Business Development Consultant** based in either **Wellington or Christchurch.**

The purpose of this role is to support client and intermediated enquiries that align with policy processing transactions. Contribute to solutions that will deliver customer retention and growth strategies whilst supporting our Customer’s needs & providing an exceptional customer experience. Ensure timely and efficient policy and underwriting advice to colleagues to facilitate efficient policy processing and credit control within service expectations. Support policy processing and credit control activities as required.

- Sales targets and objectives are achieved.
- Quality customer relationships are established, enhanced and maintained
- Know our customers and build strong relationships - matching the right solution to each customer’s needs.
- Follow through on promises and go the extra mile to deliver great customer outcomes.
- Retention and enhancement of existing business
- Integrity of the Suncorp brands and image in the New Zealand marketplace
- Conflict with customers is resolved quickly and with a positive outcome for Suncorp NZ.
- Sales opportunities are maximised
- Suncorp NZ is perceived as the first choice insurer by its chosen intermediaries
- Intermediaries receive exceptional customer service that meets or exceeds their needs

**Skills and Experience**
- Previous experience of working within the insurance industry is a must, intermediary base and Commercial & or Rural insurance experience
- Previous experience with Suncorp NZ systems and processes e.g. Solvit, Committ,
- Knowledge on Intermediaries
- Coaching and training skills
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Legislation
- Risk Evaluation
