Severe weather events in January and February 2023 have had a devastating and lasting impact on many communities and thousands of individuals across Tāmaki Makaurau. Flooding and land slips have damaged or destroyed homes and disrupted lives and communities.

Auckland Council’s Recovery Office has an opportunity for a fixed term full time Funding Specialist to join the team until September 2025. This role will report directly to Head of Homes and Houses Recovery team.

The purpose of this role is to manage the stakeholder relationships for category 2P grants process for our weather affected homeowners; enabling Tamaki Makaurau to recover from the devastating effects of Cyclone Gabreille.

You could expect to work on:

- Monitoring and reporting the progress and finance status of the scheme
- Budget Management and financial delegation of circa $50m+ programme of works

**He kōrero mōu: About you**

We are looking for someone who is deeply committed to the recovery efforts for Tāmaki Makaurau.

We are specifically looking for:

- Extensive experience in grants database management
- Experience writing and reviewing technical or political reports that can be understood by a range of audiences
- Understanding of the land development, infrastructure, social and natural environment issues and challenges relating to Recovery
