**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**
We are looking for a motivated all-rounder to join a highly passionate team responsible for getting more people walking and cycling in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland.
As a Senior Sustainable Mobility Planner, you will be responsible for designing and delivering engagement programmes and behaviour change initiatives that are embedded in human-centred design and take an innovative approach to improve safety outcomes, remove social and physical barriers to increase the number of people who choose walking and cycling for every-day transport trips.
Championing this human-centred design approach in the development of active modes focused initiatives across AT, you will input into strategic business cases and cycling infrastructure projects to ensure an excellent end-to-end customer experience is achieved.
You will partner with stakeholders and community groups, using a strategic approach to maximise the effectiveness of regional cycle skills training and behaviour change programmes.
Providing guidance to team members you will support the team to scale up delivery of community-based programmes that build community capacity for cycling and encourage the use of cycling infrastructure.

To succeed in this role you'll be a strategic thinker who holds effective working relationships across multiple stakeholders, you will be experienced developing complex programmes, relationships, budgets as well as reporting and evaluating the effectiveness of projects.
Ideally, you'll have experience, and knowledge of innovation in global and local urbanism, the strategic needs of sustainable travel in a contemporary and fast-changing world, an interest in behavioural science and a genuine passion for the need of walking and cycling in our lives.
You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of, Te Ao Māori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Māori. The work also centres community empathy and the ability and willingness to understand complex cultural realities in communities.
