Are you passionate about financial literacy and really want to make a difference in your community? If so, then this is the position for you
Te Wānanga o Aotearoa is committed to tauira success and whānau transformation through education. We are currently looking for a motivated tutor to deliver our Level 3 Certificate in Money Management through a dynamic e-learning / online format.
Our Certificate in Money Management programme is designed to support students to develop their ability around managing money and assist them to make decisions which help them to reach their financial goals in life.
The ideal applicant will have a level 4 tertiary qualification in the area of finance or business and/or experience, adult teaching qualifications and experience, and be working towards or hold a qualification in adult literacy and numeracy. Confidence in online teaching is essential.
While an understanding of te reo Māori and tikanga is beneficial, more important is a genuine openness to learning and engaging with these, and the ability to relate respectfully to all cultures within the class. A strong commitment to upholding Te Tiriti o Waitangi is also essential, and we encourage applicants to actively deepen their understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and how it applies in the context of delivering a programme for Te Wānanga o Aotearoa.
Whilst this contract is for an online delivery format, we are interested in finding someone who has the potential to deliver either or both online and face-to-face classes in future, particularly in Auckland. Thus, it is advantageous, but not essential, that the applicant be based in Auckland.
If this position is for you, in your cover letter tell us why this programme is needed in your community, and why you believe you are the right person to help these tauira work towards their financial goals in life. Applicants must be available for an online interview the week of 13 October 2025.
