**Mō tēnei mahi | About this job**

We are seeking a Kaiako to deliver our **_Certificate in Rongoā_** programme, which involves but is not limited to: developing lesson plans, presenting material to tauira (students), responding to tauira learning needs, and evaluating tauira progress.

You will be responsible for recruiting and inducting tauira, implementing effective teaching and assessment strategies, monitoring academic progress, and maintaining accurate records in accordance with TWoA and NZQA requirements. Creating a collaborative, inclusive and culturally grounded learning environment will be essential to the success of this role.

This programme teaches the protocols and customs that surrounds rongoā, to develop and enable an understanding of the Māori world view. As the kaiako of this programme, you will be an experienced rongoā practitioner with previous teaching experience.

This is a **_Fixed Term _**_(until December 2026)_**_, Full-time _**_(37.5 hours per_week) position, based out of the **_Otaki_** campus. Some flexibility will be required to work some weekends and evenings.

**Mōu | About you**

Ideally, you will have:

- Diploma in Rongoā Māori, Hauora Māori or equivalent qualification
- NZ Certificate in Adult Tertiary Teaching (Level 5) or equivalent, or be willing to complete during the first year of employment
- Experience teaching adults
- Full and current NZ Driver’s License (Class 1)

As a kaupapa Māori organisation, your willingness to participate in cultural activities and develop an understanding of Āhuatanga Māori (values, culture and tikanga) will be key.
