Christchurch is recognised as New Zealand's garden city with over 1200 parks and gardens. From neighbourhood parks with family playgrounds to wilderness walks on the Port Hills, our residents are never far from a place to play, relax or be adventurous. We are looking for a Parks and Garden Maintenance Officer with a passion for green spaces and the outdoors to work us to maintain and enhance these important places.

The role of a Parks and Garden Maintenance Officer are exciting roles where you'll be able to showcase your experience, talent and passion for the horticultural world by delivering projects that are highly valued and meet the needs of the communities and users they serve. As a Parks and Gardens Maintenance Officer you'll be delivering a wide range of maintenance, upkeep, and improvement to Christchurch City's Parks and spaces

Your duties will include,
- Mowing, hand and ride on.
- Line trimming.
- Spraying.
- Weeding.
- Pruning.
- Planting.
- Cleaning BBQs and Water fountains.
- Rubbish collection**.**

**About you | Ko Koe Tēnei**
- You'll be a committed team player who is always looking for ways to learn, grow and improve.
- You will be ensuring all aspects of our parks such as turf, gardens and all associated furnishings are maintained to the highest standard.
- You will have a full driver's license, level 4 National Certificate in Horticulture or equivalent, or extensive experience in similar role.
- A Grow Safe qualification, class two truck licence and W endorsement would be highly desirable but not essential. CCC will help you gain these qualifications if you do not have them.
