Wellington City, New Zealand New Zealand Government Full time

Transpower's core purpose is to empower the energy future for New Zealand; a future that delivers a net-zero carbon economy and a reliable and secure electricity system. A lifeline utility and essential service, we currently employ over 900 people nationwide (growing to ~1200), with an extended Service Provider whānau of over 3,000 who deliver the construction, maintenance, and fault response on the National Grid.
Our context
With accelerating demand for electrification to meet climate change goals, our organisation, and the service providers we work with, will continue to scale their workforce. It's critical our vocational training pathways and the systems that support our Private Training Establishment enable the velocity of workforce growth.
The Sector Workforce Development Group, part of Transpower's People Division, is committed to defining, developing, and delivering high-quality training programmes that ensure our people, and those who work with us, possess the skills and capability to undertake their roles effectively and safety. The group also plays a key role in promoting transmission sector jobs and career pathways to engage and enable our future workforce.
About the team
The Learner Experience team is dedicated to enhancing the overall learning journey and learner experience of Transpower employees and service provider staff. By focusing on learner engagement, support, learning resources and satisfaction, the team ensures that the diverse needs of learners are addressed not only educationally but also in an effective and holistic way.
Through continuous feedback, tailored learning experiences, and supportive, culturally aware learner interactions, the Learner Experience team helps to foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. This commitment ensures that all learners are well-equipped to complete their training in a safe and efficient way and are motivated to pursue career pathways within the transmission sector.
The opportunity
Your responsibilities will include coordinating the development of workbooks, presentations, assessment tools, and other online resources. You will also collaborate with external instructional design houses to seamlessly integrate their resources into our in-house training materials.
Beyond creating compelling learning content, you'll bring your skills in photography and videography to make training materials more engaging and accessible.
You'll manage the publishing of these resources, ensuring they are available to approved users while maintaining a robust file management and version control system to prevent the use of outdated materials. Additionally, you will oversee the Learner Experience photo, audio, and video resource library, ensuring compliance with privacy legislation.
An important aspect of this role is supporting the pastoral care of learners, ensuring that their learning journey is both enriching and supportive as we work towards a more sustainable energy future together.
Ultimately this role will give you variety, learning, and broad exposure to our exciting sector. You'll be able to utilise your varied skills, build enduring relationships, and meaningfully contribute to growing and positively impacting a national workforce.
What will you bring?
Outstanding communication skills, tech savvy and a passion for producing physical and digital learning materials which adhere to the principles of simplicity and usability.
**Your CV and cover letter will clearly demonstrate**:

- A tertiary qualification in a related field or Application provider certification in graphic design and/or equivalent experience.
