We are thrilled to be partnering with Local Government New Zealand (Te Kāhui Kaunihera ō Aotearoa, LGNZ) to support the appointment of a Learning Experience Manager.

LGNZ supports and advocates for councils across New Zealand, ensuring the needs and priorities of their communities and residents are heard loud and clear at the highest levels of central government.
LGNZ have recently developed a new learning strategy and framework, Ākona, with the goal of supporting all elected members to develop the skills they need to achieve their potential and be the best possible representatives for their community.
**The Opportunity**
Reporting to a Deputy Chief Executive, with 1-2 direct reports, you will be responsible for leading the development, delivery, and continuous improvement of the integrated Ākona strategy and framework. You will lead the design of learning programmes based on sound education and adult learning principles. You will make sure all Ākona offerings are innovative and of the highest quality, meet the current and future needs of the local government community and integrate new ideas and fresh thinking with current best practise. Your team will be supporting the development of a wide range of learning disciplines from strategy and effective decision making, leadership, cultural competency, and unconscious bias as well as technical skills.

**Key Requirements**
You are an influencer, motivator and can inspire others through your natural and enthusiastic communication. Your working style is collaborative, and you are able build rapport and creditability across all levels of an organisation. Not only are you comfortable with ambiguity but enjoy challenging traditional thinking to affect the best outcomes possible. You will also have:
- Established programme management skills
- Proven experience in the design, development, and maintenance of impactful, effective learning programmes
- Experience managing budgets
- Exposure to local government and governance advantageous but not a must have.
