The Department Manager (DM) works with Show leadership to meet the evolving needs of our diverse projects, overseeing the forecasting/resourcing and team composition of all show-based production crew. The DM establishes a plan and oversees the Crew Managers (CM) who cast crew and plan for overall career development.

**Key Accountabilities**
- Manage resource requirements working with VFX Producers, Production Managers and Central Production
- Forecast resource requirements for the department (projections) - identifying key shortfalls and anticipating surplus crew scenarios
- The DM ensures Show leadership are consulted about resource plans, and alongside Crew Managers communicates in regular and timely way confirming team composition and making changes as shows evolve
- Have a comprehensive understanding of the requirements and challenges of incoming shows and scenario plans accordingly
- The DM consults with Departments as needed about Production team composition and Department coverage
- Works with the realm leadership to proactively identify issues and risks and is active in problem-solving these within the department
- Working with the CMs and SPMs, identify areas for training and where development of crew skill sets can benefit current or upcoming projects
- Forecasts for Production hiring (multi-site) and supports the CMs in recruitment as needed
- Forecasts Production contract renewals to baseline and slate alongside departure planning
- Oversees all production leave, formulating plans with shows to absorb or request formal coverage casting with CMs
- Owns realm level data, provides reporting and recommendations.
- DM oversees CM and CC team processes and the day to day management of team including escalations
- Providing sickness and leave cover for the SPM and CMs
- Ensure the health, safety and wellbeing of yourself and our crew
- Supporting the Production Realm SPM with project work as required

**Key Success Measures**
- Production Crew are resourced in way that supports the delivery of our shows, achieving goals set by Central Production for the show
- Production Crew are well supported and managed in their roles facilitating their ongoing success
- You have developed and maintained the trust of key internal stakeholders, including Central Production and Show leadership though continued partnership and consultation regarding all decision-making concerning crew

**Skills & Experience**
- Comprehensive, end-to-end understanding of the filmmaking process
- 5+ years experience in crew/show management role
- A team leader with strong motivational skills
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Strong data analysis experience and skill-set
- An understanding of workplace hours management
- Ability to work and meet strict deadlines under pressure
- Strong knowledge of resourcing and forecasting
