**He kōrero mō te tūranga - The Role**

This is an exciting opportunity located in Christchurch, you'll be working across intensive residential youth services alongside the Service Managers and with support from the Practice Advisor to provide social work support to youth with varying intense and complex needs.

As an intermediate or experienced Social Worker, you will be supporting care planning from a clinical perspective with a hands-on approach in helping clients achieve goals while identifying their needs. You will work alongside the Service Manager to support staff in best practice techniques to achieve great social and health outcomes for our young people. You will be comfortable in coordinating planned and urgent reviews and meetings with our external partners, like Oranga Tamariki, Child and Adolescent Family Services, Emergency Mental Health Services, education providers and even the Police, as necessary.

Most importantly, you'll draw on the strengths of the dynamic team around you to create and implement best practice interventions, support plans and rehabilitation strategies to support whānau to achieve their personal goals and engage within their community.

This is a full-time role, working 40 hours per week across an array of services in Christchurch from Monday to Friday.

**He kōrero mōu - About You**

Sometimes faced with challenges by our young people you will utilise your resilience and calmness to engage and empathise with them. You need to be quick to think on your feet about how to deal with situations when the young people become dysregulated or unwell and need support. You will need to be flexible and adaptable as no two days are the same. Being able to demonstrate advocacy, assertiveness, accountability and compassion for people is important to this role.

**You'll need the following**:

- A current registration with the NZ Social Work Registration Board covered by HPCA 2003 Act and a current APC
- Ideally, previous experience working with youth
- Resilience and strong personal and professional boundaries
- A calm and patient approach to challenges you may face
- Experience or understanding of working in a residential setting would be beneficial
- A current, full New Zealand driver's licence
- The right to work in New Zealand
