The focus is on handling complaints against government agencies, undertaking investigations and inspections, and encouraging good administration. The Chief Ombudsman is independent and impartial, with the goal of fairness for all. **Mo to matou tira - About the team**: The Communications and Media team is dedicated to delivering high quality specialist/strategic communications advice, media advice and relations, social media content and content for publications. This team works closely with the Chief Ombudsman and other teams to ensure quality communications for internal and external audiences'. Collaboration and innovation are at the heart of the new team, with a commitment to enhancing the profile of the Ombudsman's work **Mo te turanga - About the role**: As the Communications Advisor (Social Media), you will be responsible for creating social media content and campaigns to drive engagement with the Chief Ombudsman's target audiences. You will work contribute to the development, implementation and delivery Ombudsman's social media strategy, measure campaign performances and monitor trends to inform the current and future social media approach. You will support and work collaboratively with the Manager Communications and Media, Senior Communications Advisors and wider team to deliver other communications advice and products including media statements, speeches and communications plans. This is a unique role that helps support the Chief Ombudsman's strategic intentions. We are looking for a positive, creative, self-starting individual who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. **He korero mou - About you**: To be successful in this role you will have: - A relevant tertiary qualification in communications, journalism, marketing, digital design, or a related field. - Previous experience in a communication team preferably at an advisory level. - Demonstrated experience of using a range of social media platforms, and analytics tools. - Proven experience in managing and advancing social media campaigns and strategies. - Demonstrated experience of writing and/or editing innovative, shareable and engaging content across digital platforms. - Experience in video production and photography are an advantage along with design skills. - An understanding of the role of the Ombudsman, the operating environment and strategic intentions. - An understanding of key Maori, disability and other cultural and human rights concepts, including Te Ao Maori, Te Tiriti o Waitangi/Treaty of Waitangi and tikanga Maori. **Te painga o te mahi tahi me matou - Our benefits, what we offer**: Becoming part of an exceptional team in a dynamic organisation, where the work is challenging and rewarding.
