**Consultant or Senior Consultant - Kaupapa Māori**
**Our teams are expanding and we would love to hear from professionals who are interested in transitioning to a new career within the search and talent acquisition field.**
**About Niche**
Niche is a proudly Māori owned business. Driven by a vision of a stronger, more diverse, and representative workforce, our team is focused on creating pathways between exceptional people and specialist roles. We cater for both public and private sector positions, being featured on the All of Government (AoG) panel for recruitment.
We are currently seeking consultants to join our specialised teams of over 25 kaimahi located across the motu from Tamaki Makaurau Auckland to Te Whanganui-a-Tara Wellington to Tāhuna Queenstown.
**About the role**
Due to growth and client demand, we are seeking a Consultant or Senior Consultant to join our Kaupapa Māori team.
Our Kaupapa Māori team is focused on building and nurturing communities of talent for roles and career pathways recognising expertise in te reo Māori, tikanga Māori, mātauranga Māori and te ao Māori.
Our ability to understand what our clients need and awhi the recruitment process in a mana-enhancing way, has positioned Niche as a preferred partner to both mainstream and Kaupapa Māori entities.
On a daily basis you will be:
- Connecting with organisations across the motu, building networks of clients to whom you will act as a trusted advisor on recruitment matters.
- Identifying new technologies and methods to make you more effective.
**About you**
If you are interested in playing a role in improving employment outcomes for Māori, increasing representation of Māori in leadership roles, and helping clients access a broader range of talent, then you could be our next Kaupapa Māori recruiter
Ideally you will be degree-qualified and will have experience within kaupapa Māori organisations, or the public sector, human resources and/or the recruitment industry, or other professional experience, such as in teaching or nursing.
We recognise that teachers and nurses bring many personal and professional attributes that will transfer directly into recruitment. A genuine interest in helping people realise their goals is a huge component of recruitment, and having a natural disposition toward wanting to help others is key.
To be successful in this role, you will have proficiency, or developing capability, with te reo Māori, an in-depth understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and a strong grounding in te ao Māori.
Additionally, you will have the confidence and ability to present to senior professionals and clients, have fantastic time management skills, and an ability to multitask.
**Benefits**
Our rewards include a competitive base salary, uncapped bonus structure, mobile, laptop and ongoing training. Our top performers are recognised with a travel package to a recruitment conference and monthly rewards including celebratory lunches and up to 12 rostered-days-off per annum in addition to annual leave. We provide weekly te reo Maōri training for all our people, which is one of the benefits most valued by our team.
**Workplace flexibility**
For us it’s about finding the right person and looking at how we can ensure a mutually successful working relationship. We would love to provide an opportunity for a parent returning to work who wishes to work school hours or someone who is seeking a combination of working from home and office-based working.
For well-established consultants located outside of the main centres, we are open to consider a fully remote working option.
