Te Whatu Ora Te Matau a Māui Hawke’s Bay has a fixed term role to join our team as a Payroll Officer and play a crucial role in the health system at a local level.

**About the Team/Service/ Location**

We have an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate and keen to work in a complex environment, using AMS Leader payroll systems. We use an automated roster to pay system with a focus on getting pays “right first time” for more than 4200 roles and have a reputation of achieving efficiencies in the way we service and pay our people.

**About you**

Previous experience in a high-volume payroll position with an understanding of relevant employment legislation and both individual and collective agreements is preferred but not essential.

Key responsibilities include:

- Accurately and efficiently process a high volume of payroll transactions
- Maintain up to date and accurate records of payroll transactions
- Collaborate with the team and other departments to address payroll inquiries and resolve payroll related issues
- Record payroll entries in compliance with policies and procedures
- Be an experienced user of AMS Leader and Actor systems
- Be highly organised, accurate, and with strong attention to detail
- Thrive under time pressures
- Utilise effective communication skills
- Have the ability to analyse data and problem solve
- Work well independently yet also be an active contributor within our team
- Have advanced computer skills
