**About the Role**

This is an exciting opportunity to join Health New Zealand Te Whatu Ora Te Matau a Māui as a Transition Officer (Holidays Act).

You will work alongside a group of experienced payroll professionals to monitor payroll compliance. Join our team and play a crucial role in the health system at a local level.

**About the Team/Service/ Location**

In this role, you will provide oversight and support to the Payroll teams and stakeholders to ensure ongoing compliance with the Holidays Act, tax and any other legislative regulations.

**About you**

We have a vacancy for someone who is passionate and keen to work in a complex environment and can appreciate that payroll is not just pushing buttons.

Key responsibilities include:

- Ensuring compliant configuration is maintained in the payroll systems
- Ensure compliance with all relevant statutory, safety and regulatory requirements as applicable
- Demonstrate performance improvement and efficiency
- Support the implementation of agreed continuous improvement initiatives, monitors, quality and devises systems to support continuous improvement
- Conduct audit checks to ensure that correct data is being recorded and correct payments are being made to employees
- Provide support with analysis and calculations required for ongoing Holidays Act Remediation payments
- Develop and run reports to ensure employee data is of a high quality and complete
- Implement MECA configurations
- Actively seek to identify and recommend opportunities for continuous improvement, bringing forward ideas for solutions
- Have a minimum of 3 years payroll experience in payroll in the health sector
- Have a sound understanding of the Holidays Act and experience working with Holidays Act remediation and rectification
- Experience in payroll system implementations and documenting payroll processes
- Experience in large volume data analysis
- Thrive under time pressures
- Have the ability to analyse data and problem solve
- Work well independently yet also be an active contributor within the wider team
