Tyler Wren has partnered with MTF Finance to attract a Head of Credit Analytics in this newly created role. This role is ideally based in
**Dunedin** (National Office). The business also has an office in
**Auckland** (Grafton) so there is potential for this position to be based there.

**About the role**:
This is an exciting opportunity to join a company that is changing the face of lending.

Reporting to the Head of Credit this role is responsible for providing critical thinking and analytical insights to support lending decisions. As a credit expert, you will provide evidence-based recommendations to senior stakeholders which include the board. You will also implement analytical tools and techniques which will drive optimum credit decisions across the business. You will be an experienced people leader as you will be managing a team of 3 direct reports.

**Key Accountabilities**:
Utilise your expertise to conduct thorough credit analysis on all personal and business market segments; and lead the development and implementation of dynamic credit risk management strategies. Evaluate credit limits regularly monitoring the effectiveness of the credit decision models, working closely with credit bureaus on their data sources and decision engines. You will also lead the Credit Risk forums, including Board Sub Committees.

Train and mentor other junior credit analysts in this role and lead by example to uplift critical thinking, analytical capabilities, and data driven decision making across both the Credit team and the wider business.

Contribute to the delivery of strategic projects across functions and teams.

**About you**:

- 5+ years of experience in credit risk analysis and policy within a lending environment is desirable
- Proven experience working with credit scoring models and risk management software
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex information into readable reports and presentations
- Ability to work autonomously whilst providing supervision or support to others. A genuine interest in leading people is critical - previous people leadership is desirable but development would be supported.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts in simple terms, and the ability to influence stakeholders.
