**Āu Mahi | What You Will Do**
As the Studio Technician in Moving Image and VP, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the Digital Screen's specialised, Editing, Colour Grading, Motion Capture and Virtual Production Stage. You will provide technical support to staff and students, oversee Production Asset Management and digital workflows. You will be working with novice Digital Screen Arts students with little or no experience through to liaising with industry professionals in film, gaming, and music. Additionally, you will contribute to the maintenance of equipment and facilities, provide training and mentorship, and coordinate with external vendors for support.
**Mōu | Who You Are**
- High-level expertise in digital filmmaking and virtual production, with a strong understanding of digital workflows.
- Familiarisation with all the following and expertise in a few of the following: DaVinci Resolve, AVID Media Composer, ARRI Studio Lighting, Sony professional cameras, 3D software such as Unreal engine.
- Prior experience in the film, television, gaming, or music industry (preferred).
- Strong understanding of digital storytelling.
- Experience in camera operation and studio lighting is preferable.
- Strong IT system management skills, especially post-production networking and file management(advantageous).
- Experience of shared project management on Avid networked storage systems (Nexus) and remote session operation via Avid Cloud Collaboration or similar platforms (preferred)
- Solid electrical knowledge around the safe operation of single and three phase power.
- Basic electrical knowledge around electronic equipment such as soldering skills.
- Experience in mentoring or teaching (desirable).
- A Bachelor's degree (NZQA Level 7) or equivalent qualification.
