We are working on behalf of a growing Christchurch-based architectural and structural consultancy delivering integrated architectural and structural design for residential and commercial projects. Their portfolio includes multi-unit townhouses, light commercial buildings, and alterations/change-of-use projects for repeat developer and commercial clients.

The team takes projects from concept design through building consent and construction monitoring, focusing on coordinated, buildable solutions rather than minimum-compliance drawings. The studio culture is professional yet relaxed, with directors actively involved and committed to clear processes and standards.

The Opportunity

They are seeking an experienced Architectural Designer / Architectural Technician who can:

  • Take responsibility for the documentation process for multi-unit residential and small commercial projects
  • Work closely with Directors and structural engineers to deliver high-quality consent and construction drawings
  • Assist with structural detailing
  • Manage projects end-to-end, from design concepts through to construction

This is a hands-on Revit role focused on technical detailing and coordination.

What You'll Bring

  • Proven NZ experience managing projects independently
  • Strong knowledge of NZ Building Code, council processes, and compliance
  • Ability to liaise confidently with clients, consultants, and council
  • Proficiency in Revit
  • Strong organisational skills to handle multiple projects
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to mentor junior team members
