The opportunity | Te Whiwhinga mahi The purpose of this role is to lead, direct, and implement LGWM's strategic engagement and communications approach and planning across one of our three portfolio projects. The three portfolios are City Streets, Three Year Programme, and Mass Rapid Transit/Strategic Highway Improvements. You will protect and enhance our brand and reputation by working with communication and engagement leads from partner organisations and our project and programme teams, ensuring consistency with our overall approach, communications planning, and delivery. In addition, you will offer excellent strategic advice and practical communications and engagement solutions to your portfolio Programme Manager and LGWM's leadership team. You will be working closely with communities and various stakeholders. We are looking for an enthusiastic team player with strong communication skills who can remain calm and optimistic under pressure and demonstrate empathy. About you | Ko koe tēnei To be successful you will have strong demonstrable knowledge of, and experience in, the following.
- Extensive experience in strategic communications, engagement planning, and delivery at the senior or principal advisor level in varied environments.
- Excellent writing and editing skills and experience presenting complex technical and strategic information clearly and simply in various written formats.
- A deep understanding and knowledge of communications and engagement tools, techniques and channels.
- Experience working with advertising agencies, developing campaigns or brands, and with other providers of communications and engagement services.
- Proven ability to build relationships with a diverse and complex range of staff, leaders, partners and stakeholders with varied backgrounds, perspectives, and political views.
- A track record of successfully developing and leading communications and engagement programmes in a complex, ambiguous, and evolving environment.
- Communications and engagement experience in infrastructure projects in a political environment
