**Community Engagement Lead - Contract**

**Mō tēnei tūranga mahi | About this role**
The Community Engagement Lead acts as the key frontline point of contact to tāngata whaikaha Māori communities, providing engagement opportunities, networking, support, information and resources in collaboration with other TAMA staff, so that tāngata whaikaha Māori voices are heard in relevant Kaupapa through involvement with TAMA.
This is initially a six-month contract for 20 hours per week. Location is flexible.
**Ko koe tēnei | About you**
You will be committed to driving improved outcomes for tāngata whaikaha Māori and their whānau. As a natural connector you’ll thrive at establishing strong relationships with key partners across the health and social sector. Ideally you will have a background in community engagement and will offer proven experience at developing and delivering engagement strategies.
**Key requirements**:
- A tertiary qualification or experience working within heath, disability, or social services.
- Experience in community engagement and/or similar role.
- Understanding of the issues and concerns of the disability community
- Understanding of the appropriate approach to communication with disabled communities.
- Experience and expertise in the development and delivery of engagement strategies
- Demonstrated ability to build trusted relationships, bring people together and maintain these relationships over time.
- Excellent organisational skills, communication skills and ability to follow through on plans and commitments in a timely way.
