The mental health and addictions service deliver a variety of services across the Waikato region. We are a service undertaking a huge programme of change to deliver better outcomes to tāngata whai ora and whānau in our region. Nga iwi Ngakaunui - people at the heart is demonstrated best in mental health and addictions, people really are at the heart of all that we do. We know how important strong relationships are; with people who access our services, with their whānau and with the communities we serve.

With service users/tangata whaiora based both locally and rurally, this role provides an exciting opportunity to work closely with the communities in which people live and support better outcomes. The Central South team area runs from the southern half of urban Hamilton out to Raglan on one side and out to Matamata via Cambridge and including Waharoa on the other side. The multidisciplinary team is a strong, collaborative team that is based in Hamilton, working Monday to Friday.

Mōu | About you
Required skills & experience you will need to be considered for this role:

- At least two years' experience in Mental Health and Addictions, ideally in a community setting or with clear transferable skills
- An ability to manage and support planning for complex presentations along with providing leadership and support during crisis situations is essential
- Innovative thinkers with a can do attitude
- Practice with a tangata whaiora and whanau centred approach and are a strong advocate for best practice
- Approach care and service delivery with a strong cultural lens and an understanding of our responsibilities in achieving equity for Maori
- Have a passion for being able to support and sustain change in line with service improvements and developments
- Be flexible and adaptable, displaying curiosity and a willingness to learn
- Have an identified interest in a leadership pathway in mental health and addictions services
- Be able to manage high pressure situations with big picture thinking
