Grocery Manager

The Four Square Brand is part of the DNA of New Zealand, with many customers having grown up with our brand from childhood.  Raglan Four Square is a full-service supermarket, proudly New Zealand-owned and operated.  We are seeking applicants for the challenging and demanding role of Grocery Manager. This role would be an excellent opportunity for a results-driven, self-motivated individual looking to further their career in the FMCG industry. Ideally, this role is suited to someone with a sound working knowledge and experience in the grocery industry, as well as a desire to be the best in their field. Key responsibilities include: Meet and actively manage labour, sales, and margin goals. Analyse margin data and re-establish strategies as necessary to meet target margins. Participate in the development of the annual budget and long-term strategic planning for labour, operating expenses, and capital spending. Adapt the pricing structure to meet budget goals. Manage the Grocery Department staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, coaching, and initiating required performance reviews.   Monitor associate performance and effectively recommend personnel action such as hiring, firing, layoff, promotion, demotion, and disciplinary action. Maintain confidentiality concerning associates, store sales, and Company information. Prepare the weekly sales and labour projections for the Grocery Department to maximize sales and profits. Order grocery products and maintain inventory levels according to Division directives. Requirements for the role: Ability to function at the required level, through proven relevant work experience in & knowledge of the supermarket sector;  A positive, customer-focused attitude with loads of enthusiasm, physically able and reliable; Ability to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test This role has a minimum of 32 hours per week guaranteed.
