Principal Stakeholder Engagement Advisor

Whānau Āwhina Plunket people are at the heart of what we do, our frontline kaimahi impact the lives of whānau from across Aotearoa on a day to day basis, providing reassurance and clinical advice in homes, clinics and in community settings.
We’re seeking a Principal Stakeholder Engagement Advisor preferably based in Wellington to join our team in a full time fixed term position for 12 months until late 2025.
**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**
We are at an exciting point in our journey as an organisation and this newly created position will play a key role in building capability for leaders to create and strengthen relationships with our key stakeholders.
Reporting to the Head of Communications and Stakeholder Engagement, you will ensure Whānau Āwhina Plunket is using best practice engagement and communication strategies while supporting the development of our leaders in this area. You’ll develop engagement tools and messaging and work with key partners across the organisation to develop plans to elevate our brand in the community alongside implementing our framework and strategy.
A key focus in our strategy is also how we support whānau in our priority populations, your connection to this as well as a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi will ensure you thrive in the role.
**He kōrero mōu | About you**
As a strong communications specialist, you will bring exceptional communication and relationship management skills to the role. You will be a strategic thinker and collaborative worker with strong experience developing engagement plans and tools, implementing them and measuring their results.
Your ability to establish and maintain strong working relationships and be adaptable and flexible will ensure you thrive in this role.
You will also be/have:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Communications or similar qualification
- Senior level experience in a Communications or Stakeholder Engagement Advisor role
- Experience working with and influencing senior members of the organisation
- Highly developed verbal, written and presentation skills
- Strong time management skills - able to handle competing priorities including operational and strategic work
