**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**
The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people’s health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.
We have two permanent, full-time opportunities available to join our team as Smokefree Enforcement Officer. These roles are critical in enabling the delivery of the NPHS strategic agenda for Pae Ora (Healthy Futures) with compliance activities related to Smokefree Environments and Regulated Products Act 1990. The role will see you taking action in accordance with our national strategy, plan and evidence-based approach to compliance activity. Working effectively with systems and processes for regional delivery and reporting of compliance activity.
**Mōu | About you**
You are someone with experience in an enforcement role where you have used sound judgement to develop options and provide advice. You will be experienced in regulation or compliance and have worked to support project delivery.
**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- A relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent experience in Law, Health, Public Administration or Compliance
- Proven experience in the regulation or compliance space
- Understanding and experience working in partnership with Pacific communities
- Previous health sector or government experience and knowledge of government structures
- Advanced organization, planning and time management skills able to reprioritize and react to issues and demanding situations
