Auckland City, New Zealand Financial Markets Authority Full time

We are looking for two new team members, with one permanent and one 6-month fixed term positions available
- Auckland-based opportunities

**A great place to work. With great work to do.**

Ours is a meaningful and impactful role, as a kaitiaki (caretakers) of the financial services in Aotearoa. We oversee a market that does right by everyone, ensuring better outcomes for all New Zealanders. Our role as a kaitiaki is brought to life by our values; Look to the Horizon, Help the Team Work, Make the Calls and Open Hearts, Open Minds.

**Te Tūranga | The Role**

As an Adviser - Regulatory Services, you'll be part of a fast-paced team that acts as the FMA's front door. This varied and rewarding role involves assessing misconduct reports, responding to enquiries, supporting licensing processes, and contributing to cross-agency cooperation and internal projects.

You'll gain broad exposure across the FMA and help shape positive outcomes for financial markets and consumers across Aotearoa.

Key responsibilities include:

- Responding to misconduct reports and enquiries promptly and accurately.
- Supporting the licensing process and assisting market participants with regulatory obligations.
- Coordinating information requests from local and international partners.
- Maintaining quality records and supporting intelligence gathering.
- Contributing to internal reporting, cross-team projects, and process improvements.
- Supporting training initiatives and public communications (e.g. bulk mailouts).

**He kōrero mōu | About You**

You're curious, analytical, and motivated to do work that makes a difference. You bring a sharp eye for detail, strong communication skills, and enjoy working collaboratively in a team environment.

You'll likely bring:

- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to go beyond surface-level information, make sound, informed decisions, and 'connect the dots'.
- Clear written and verbal communication, tailored to different audiences.
- A willingness and aptitude for continuous learning — exposure to legislation is a bonus but not essential.
- Confidence with Microsoft Office and CRM systems.
- A team-first attitude, with a good sense of humour and initiative to spot and act on opportunities to make an even bigger impact.

You're not expected to have 100% of these skills. At FMA, a growth mindset is at the heart of our culture — so if you have most of these in your toolbox, we'd love to hear from you.

**Ngā painga | What We Offer**

We offer some great benefits including a 4% KiwiSaver contribution, health and life insurance cover, paid leave over the Christmas period, a generous $1,500 refer a friend bonus as well as an ability to swap public holiday leave with other days that mean more to you. Additionally, we have exceptional learning and development opportunities including access to leadership development, technical training, and external coaching.

At the FMA we're committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment where every individual feels valued, respected, and empowered to bring their authentic self to work each day. We offer a range of wellness and social activities designed to support our people with aspects of their personal and professional lives and genuinely connect with their colleagues.
