Provide support for project leads, evaluators and researchers through a range of project activities in both the Practice team and other Te Pou and Blueprint teams.
About Te Pou | Mō mātou
Te Pou is a not-for-profit, national workforce development centre. We aim to improve the lives of people with mental health, addiction, and disability needs by connecting the people working with them, tāngata whai ora, tāngata whaikaha and their whānau, with knowledge, resources, training, and information. Our work is staunchly evidence based.

The Role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi
To provide project support and coordination for a range of projects and programmes within the Te Pou Practice team to improve the capability of the workforce to respond to people and their whānau with mental health challenges and addiction issues. This will include working within project teams to provide project support and coordination for project activities.
This could include:
- With guidance from Programme managers for research, evaluation and monitoring you will identify and collate relevant data and information for research and evaluation activities that could include literature reviews, impact evaluation reports and other reports required for project activities as identified.
- Support development and completion of evaluation and research activities
- Assist in the translation of evaluation and research in the mental health, addiction and disability sectors.
- Provide support to project activities as identified.
- Coordination for project events such as webinars, forums and workshops
- Provide support for research and evaluation activities
- Coordination for the development of workforce development resources.
Essential skills and experience:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Excellent IT skills, and experience using Microsoft Office software suites and ability to utilise research software, eg Endnote and Survey Monkey.
- Systematic approach to collating, recording and documenting information.
- Literature searching skills using academic databases and grey literature.
- Ability to review, analyse and summarise quantitative and qualitative data.
- Knowledge and commitment to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi.
- Reflects the Essential level of Let's get real across the seven Real Skills in work practices. Willingness to participate in professional and personal development.
- Passion for working to improve outcomes for people with experience of mental health, addiction and disability.
