**Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity**
The National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Te Whatu Ora, work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures) for all by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.
**We have the opportunity available to join the Strategy and Operations Team in an exciting new role as a Regional Learning and Development Lead - People and Operations**. This role will provide leadership to the various learning and development programmes of work regionally, such as workforce planning, learning and development plans alongside performance reviews and maintaining professional qualifications/APC's for individual staff, as is relevant to their profession.
Working under the leadership of the Strategy and Operations Team, this role works across the NPHS Regional Leadership Group, managers, team leaders and clinical leaders, to partner with Strategy and Operations Team, Health Protection and Community Whanau and Wellbeing to fully implement the regional programme of work as directed with by the National Programme of work. This role will be accountable for developing regional programmes of work and supporting the development and continuous improvement of staff within Te Ikaroa NPHS. Working regionally with the various networks will be critical to ensuring a consistent approach to the relevant programmes of learning and development.
**Mōu | About you**
You will be a strong strategic and operational leader with experience in organisational and learning development programmes of work, initiating project development that relates to implementing the National Programme of Learning and Development, cross-sector working and ability to influence to achieve outcomes. You can lead change, innovation, capability development and quality improvement across the regional NPHS Services in Te Ikaroa Central Region and use sound judgement to develop options and provide advice to leaders, managers, and team leaders.
**Ngā pūkenga me ngā wheako | Skills and experience**
- A Bachelors qualification or equivalent experience in General Management and/or Human Resource Management
- 5+ years' experience in developing learning development programmes and delivering on projects/initiatives that relate to Human Resource Management and developing professional learning development plans
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate with all stakeholders to deliver on programmes and outcomes
- Experience in utilising technology and systems that focus on learning development and tracking/supporting staff to achieve these
- Support and organisation and managers with advice on workplace practices that support a psychologically safe culture and understanding.
