**Job Description**:
AECOM’s award-winning national Cost Management practice has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Cost Manager to join our highly successful multi-discipline team in Auckland.

Reporting to our NZ Practice Leader - Cost Management, the Technical Director provides leadership to the business and will build and strengthen our long-term client relationships and raise our profile and reputation in the market. The Technical Director will contribute to the strategic growth of the business and be an active and visible champion of change for the services we offer to our clients.

Working closely with our Team Leaders, you will be responsible for the delivery of cost management / quantity surveying services on some of Wellington’s most iconic projects, giving you a senior opportunity to further develop your career and client exposure to a range of market sectors.

Tasks will include, but are not limited to:

- Cost planning and estimating during design phase
- Leading and guiding teams of Cost Managers/ Quantity Surveyors
- Construction phase cost and project management
- Managing cost, budget and timelines of multiple projects in parallel
- Assisting with feasibility studies, capital cost advice
- Client relationship management
- Life-cycle costing.

To be successful in this role, you will be a team player with proven interpersonal skills and experience in the following areas:

- Relevant tertiary qualification in Quantity Surveying or similar
- Extensive cost management experience, consultative approach, with proven experience working in a consultancy highly advantageous
- Demonstrated skills in managing multiple project costs and budgets
- Strong knowledge and working practice of local market conditions, Quantity Surveying/Cost Management standards, frameworks and processes, estimating models/methodologies and contract conditions
- Excellent ability to understand and develop project scope in varied construction and engineering project environments
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Proficient in the use of MS Office Suite
- Knowledge of CostX is advantageous, but not essential
