**Position Pizza Chef**

Type Permanent Part Time - Min of 30hrs per week, Max of 50 hours per week

Pay $29.66 - $33.00 per hour based on experience

Pizza chef / cook required for Toto Pizza, located in the Auckland CBD, close to public transport and amenities.

Standard roster is 5 days a week, 3 doubles with 2 singles with opportunity for potentially more hours.

We have 2 roles available.

**Required attributes**:

- Previous experience with pizza making and an understanding of dough making
- Professional with an eye for detail
- An understanding of health and safety requirements for food preparation and processes (Food Control Plan)
- Previous experience working with and managing teams
- The ability to work in a calm and professional manner in a high performing environment

**In this role you will be responsible for**:

- To organize your assigned section and ensure it runs efficiently and productively.
- Familiarize yourself with the other kitchen sections, promoting flexibility and productivity.
- Ensure all food produced is in line with kitchen recipes and standards.
- Check all food is stored and handled as per current food health and hygiene regulations.
- Be responsible for the daily cleanliness of all kitchen wet and dry areas.
- Ensure yours, and other work areas, equipment and sections are kept clean at all times, in accordance with current health & hygiene regulations.
- Monitor daily kitchen food and product requirements, and advise your supervisor of these well in advance.
- Monitor food and operational costs and control these through effective food management.
- Practice safe work habits following the companies’ occupational health & safety policy and security in the work place.
- Report any health and safety hazards and accidents to your supervisor or the manager on duty.
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is kept in good working order and used for the purpose it was built. Treat all company’s assets with respect.
- Ensure all equipment is operated and cared for in line with manufacturer’s instructions.
- Be responsible for the daily cleanliness of all kitchen wet and dry areas.
- Maintain Organization of Main Fridge, freezer, storeroom and staff room.
- End of shift procedures to be fulfilled under your guidance.
- Check that all sections are ready before service.
- Check all food is stored and handled as per current food health and hygiene regulations.
- Conduct and/or attend training and development sessions as instructed by the Head Chef.
- Work together with peers and management to meet the goals of the department/restaurant.
- Contribute to cost control through energy conservation and the correct use of all food and appliances.
- Oversee and train of junior staff members.
- Be punctual and groomed in accordance with Pizza A Metro policy. Be at your workstation as per your rostered time.
- Ensure all required tasks are completed on time, and within the given time frames.
- Any other reasonable duties as required by the Head Chef or management.
